Introduction
As the chosen but failed leader, King Saul, in the Book of Samuel, double-mindedness makes us deteriorate in spirit, thusly affecting our spirit to be One in the Spirit of God. King Saul was in a perfect, spiritual marriage with God, and chosen to be a leader of a people God loved (1 Samuel 15:9, v 13, vv. 20-21).
When King Saul did not do as God had hoped—making a choice not to walk in the Will of God—King Saul sinned against God. You see, God has faith, also (2 Peter 3:9). God has chosen us in hopes that we will steadfastly walk in His Will. When God’s children are disobedient in ‘the Law,’ God does not reject us but we become rejected by the wording of ‘the Law.’ The Law cannot consume or accept sin, for ‘the Law’ is Perfect in God. Therefore, we are to receive the promises of all things, not only through obedience to ‘the Law’ but also through Faith, for without Faith, ‘the Law’ would not exist and would not be fruitful. Who is this Law? The Law is Christ, for Christ came and fulfilled all ‘the Law,’ making us able to do so in Him. Therefore, my brothers and sisters, we are no longer living under ‘the Law’ because as believers in Christ, we live faithfully in Him, thus fulfilling all ‘the Law,’ and the prophets (Matthew 5:17).
Truly loving our neighbor as ourselves speaks and takes volumes of effort but it can be done unconditionally. Not only does ‘the Law’ require us to love our neighbor, but ‘the Law,’ Who is Christ, also requires us to love God first, and to love ourselves in order to show true love to our neighbor. On these Two Commandments, hang ALL ‘the Law’ and the prophets (Matthew 22:40).
Marriage is a calling and a ministry. King Saul got caught up in an unhealthy fear and paranoia for all the wrong reasons. King Saul lost faith in God and in God’s continued love for him. King Saul took his focus off God. King Saul’s history of being One in God finally came to an end.
Christian’s actions tell much about how they feel about themselves inside by the way they treat their neighbors. Any sin shown comes from the sin that is going on within their temple, being passed down from generation to generation. ‘The Law,’ God’s Law, says a person will show true love the way they truly love themselves. In order to show true love to another, you must truly love yourself.
We are all a chosen people, loved by God from the beginning. We are all chosen people not just for privilege sake anymore but to carry a burden for a reason (Acts 3:24-26), and that reason is to be justified by faith. There is neither Jew, nor Greek, neither bond nor free, neither male nor female. For by Faith, we are all One in Christ (Galatians 3:26-29), and by faith, the Gentiles are blessed (Galatians 3:6-9; Mark 7:24-30).
When we truly do not love, then we truly do not believe in Christ. We then walk, not in the Will (Spirit) of God, but in the will (spirit) of Satan. The Doublins do not walk in faith.
Chapter 5
She Has Given Them A Reason To Despise Her
If you want a fierce enemy, trap a mother’s son into marriage. A mother will feel she is a mother apart from her religion. She will give motherhood a whole new definition from what God expects of her. A mother can spot an ambush far in the distance, and a protectively loving mother will speak up. She will do whatever it takes to keep her son from a hated fiancée clutches. If a fiancée happens to outpace and out maneuver her future mother-in-Law, not only will it be disastrous during the engagement period, but it will be a longstanding, nasty relationship between the mother-in-Law and her daughter-in-Law.
People who entrap others are dishonest. Once a hated engagement and/or marriage happens, the Doublins, especially the mother-in-Law, will have unending anger because entrapment has given the Doublins just cause to hate. As far as the Doublins are concerned, the daughter-in-Law is living as a liar in their family and in her marriage.
There is nothing more pitiful than a mother-in-Law and a daughter-in-Law fighting over a man. This is not a situation where the Doublins are expressing objections over their son-in-Law’s or daughter-in-Law’s race, texture of hair, size, intellect, lack of money or other nonsensical reasons to not show true love. Through entrapment, the daughter-in-Law actually has invited a host of unwanted, bloodsucking circumstances into existence.
Unfortunately, evil behavior will develop because her mother-in-Law mistrusts her, and the mother-in-Law will do whatever it takes to save her son, in spite of the fact her son has already been saved. The mother does not believe that the Holy Spirit alone can help her son see the Light, but we all must work out our own Salvation with fear and trembling. We are supposed to shine as lights for the New Jerusalem which is what a wedding celebration is about.
Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but how
Much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. For it
is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. Do all things
without murmurings and disputing: That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons
of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom
ye shine as lights in the world (Philippians 2: 12-15).
For the most part, the wife’s husband/son may try to distance themselves from the brawl by allowing the mental and emotional verbal blows to land where they land. It is likely that the fiancée or daughter-in-Law is not going to hold her tongue. Frankly, sometime the men—the husbands—will refrain from the explosive disputes between the wives. Their thought is, “I have to go home to my wife.” If the son speaks up for his wife, his mother will probably be much harder on him, then if he remained silent. She will pressure him to leave that dreadful daughter-in-Law. If the son speaks up for his mother, he will have to contend with his wife. The husbands in this particular conflict are caught between the Wrath of the women. What will they do?
Satan will supply mother-in-Law with his evil-spirited troops, to back her up. Satan’s troops are the ones who will turn their noses up at the wife during social events with whisperings and murmurings. If contemptuous Christian-in-Laws show up at the wedding, their mission at the supper table, the luncheon and even the breakfast table will be to destroy the daughter-in-Law’s credibility as well as the destruction of her temple.
